Industry site Doddle notes that there are still several types of video that will require the creation of DVDs: “wedding and event videographers, corporate environments, as well as the independent producer.” The trend in downloadable and streaming media isn’t slowing, so we can only expect to see DVD use to continue it’s sharp decline in these areas as well. That said, Encore is still available for those users who subscribe the Adobe Creative Cloud…but for how long will remain to be seen. As consumers trend away from physical media, it’s no wonder that the apps to create those physical media are shinking as well. I heard that Adobe Encore CS6 was the final disc authoring system that runs on a Mac. DTS HD support for Blu-ray You can now import DTS HD files into Encore and build to blu-ray discs. In addition, Encore CS6 supports Random and Shuffle options for chapter playlists in web DVDs. Another way to fix it is to modify the Blu-ray navigation commands using BDEdit after you have exported your Blu-ray project as a folder from Encore. They have it, and have distributed it to some of their beta testers, but will not release it to the public. Find these options in the Chapter PlayList panel. Danny is correct, this is a bug with CS5 that Adobe has refused to release the fix for. Adobe has announced they will no longer be supporting Encore – their popular DVD and Blu-Ray authoring application. Encore CS6 provides only the Sequential option for chapter playlists of DVD projects. ![]()
